Renewing your tag online takes a few minutes, and you never have to leave the house. Here's exactly how it works when you start from our site.
Before you start
You can renew online starting the month before your registration expires. Gather these first so you don't have to stop halfway:
- Your vehicle's full VIN. It's on your registration and insurance card, and on the driver's side of the dashboard where it meets the windshield.
- Your license plate number
- Your full Oklahoma title number
- A valid Oklahoma insurance policy
- The owner's driver license number (a business uses its FEIN)
- A credit card or checking account
Step 1: Click Renew Online
Start your renewal (opens the State of Oklahoma site in a new tab) from any Renew Online button on our site. It opens Navigate, the State of Oklahoma's official site, with Eastside Tag Agency already selected as your office. There's nothing extra to choose.
Step 2: Enter your vehicle and owner details
Navigate asks for the information on your checklist: the VIN, plate number, title number, insurance and the owner's license number. Double-check the VIN and title number, since those are the easiest to mistype.
Step 3: Choose one year or two
Since November 2023, Oklahoma lets you register for one year or two. Two years covers this year's registration and next year's, so it generally costs about double, and it saves you next year's renewal.
Step 4: Pay on the State's site
Pay by credit card or from your checking account. You complete the payment on navigate.ok.gov, the State's official site; we never see or store your payment details.
Step 5: Watch your mailbox
Because you started from our site, your renewal comes to our office to process. We work to get it in the mail the next business day. Put the new decal on your plate when it arrives, and keep the registration receipt in your vehicle; Oklahoma requires it.
If your decal doesn't show up, call us at (918) 438-2198. Renewals are handled by the office that processed them, so we're the right people to ask.
What if your tag already expired?
You have a 30-day grace period after your registration expires. After that, the State adds a penalty of $1 a day, up to $100, and it can't be waived. If you're past due, call us before you renew and we'll tell you what you owe. Our guide to late tag renewal explains how the penalty works.
Renewing something besides a car?
The same site renews boats, outboard motors, farm vehicles and commercial trailers. See every online service.
