Oklahoma requires a VIN inspection before it titles a vehicle with an out-of-state or tribal title. Someone checks that the vehicle identification number on the vehicle matches your paperwork. Licensed Operators like us do the inspection while you're here, and the State's fee is $4.

Bring the title signed over to you, Form 701-6, your driver license, proof of Oklahoma insurance and the vehicle. If a dealership sold it to you, add the purchase agreement.

Yes, new residents should switch to an Oklahoma license. If your current license is valid, or expired less than six months ago, you can usually transfer it without the written or driving test. The fee is $42.50 for a 4-year license or $81 for 8 years. For the transfer, plan on bringing your birth certificate or a valid passport and some proof of your address, and know your Social Security number. Call us at (918) 438-2198 before you come in and we'll tell you whether we can handle your license transfer here or you'll need a Service Oklahoma Licensing Office.
